John Wachter's New Year's resolution is really more of a necessity than anything really: Be faster.
As one of the strongest, most sure-handed players in the DSFL, he was simply able to out muscle and bully defenders on a regular basis. But in the NSFL everyone is bigger, stronger, faster, and really just better over all. Being a one trick player won't cut it anymore. The hands will remain an integral part of his games, but its time for the legs to catch up.
In order to do this, Wachter returned to school. Not to further his education, don't be ridiculous, but to train with the track team. Simple form changes have added so much speed to his running motion, and his extra time spent is paying dividends on the practice field. Those crisp routes he's known for have become crisper, and the separation from defenders has widened. Wachter is excited to see his hard work pay off throughout the year and the rest of his career.
Oh, and a second resolution to not wait until the last second to do all the ACs, updates, etc, and worry the coaches. Maybe start doing that before the day it's due sometimes.
