The Colorado Yeti haven’t been winning a lot over the past few years, but the influx of new talent has the team poised to make a big leap in the upcoming season. Dwayne Aaron, the guy that Nick Pierno had been wishing the team would get since Aaron’s first game in the Developmental Simulation Football League, is already the Yeti’s No. 2 receiver, a fantastic locker room presence and a super hard worker. He’s the type of guy that’s improving each week and could easily find himself in offensive rookie of the year contention. Nick Pierno has also gotten to know rookie Micycle McCormick, a rookie out of Rutgers who spent last year in the DSFL, really well, too. After all, he is the holder for all of McCormick’s field goal attempts. The Yeti, who lost several games by just one score last year, need to have kicking game consistency and McCormick is looking like the long-term solution the team was looking for. Last, but not least, the flashy free agent signing AC Hackett. Currently the highest paid player on the team, Hackett joins arguable the best linebacker core in the league with Jonathon Saint and Haruki Ishigawa—it’s clear the Yeti defense is just a few secondary pieces away from being one of the NSFL’s elite.
