Its a flawed system for sure. I just hit 800 TPE and I am making $2M a year on my contract which still has 2.5 seasons on it. I have pushed for contracts to increase each off-season based on TPE but I am the minority and it will likely never happen.
If you want a change, you may need to explore options where contract money and other money are separate. Have contract money be good for certain purchases that can't be bought with media money. If the league won't force higher contracts through TPE gains, we need to make the players want larger contracts.
