For any member of the Yeti organization, it’s easy to guess what our biggest frustrations are. The primary one for everyone that I know of is obviously our 0-9 record. As I’ve said before, winning cures all ills, and we have been doing very little winning. So let’s take that one as a given and move on to something that might be a little more personal in nature.
My biggest frustration, other than not winning any games, has been my injury setbacks this year. Knee injuries, shoulder injuries, back injuries -- I’ve been plagued this year more than any other point in my career. In college, I never had anything more significant than a knee scope. In the DSFL, I got hurt almost right away, and that took me out for the first few weeks of the season, hence some other guys getting a jump on me and getting on the field earlier. My first two years it the NSFL, my health has been pretty near perfect. I’ve had scrapes and bruises just like everyone else, but nothing major.
This year has been a different story. I haven’t missed any games, and I’m knocking on wood to hope that that keeps being the case. But I’ve been tweaking joints and waking up more sore than usual on a fairly regular basis. It’s just meant missing practices and training sessions, but those are things that I still desperately need this early in my career. Everyone has to deal with injuries sometime, but it’s fairly new for me, and it’s a real frustration.
(Out of character: I keep having PC troubles and missing updates and/or PTs. :-( But now it should be getting better. Whoop!)
