Since this weekend’s PT is open, I just want to take a moment to talk about the crazy season that YKW has had and say thank you to my teammates for hanging in there when it got rough. Coming on the back to two trips to the Ultimus, only to come home empty-handed, we knew the pressure was on us to deliver this season. It started out with a shocking loss to the Liberty on home turf. Little did we know that the Liberty were about to have a break-out year and shock a lot of people. We bounced back to 2-1, but hit an unexpected snag with a tie against the Second Line. That result led to some ridicule from the rest of the league and it shook our confidence, leading to a 2-4-1 record that seemed unthinkable just half a season before. For the first time in a long time, the Wraiths were looking at a possible losing record. Fortunately, we rallied in the second half of the season, going 5-2 in our last seven games and securing a play-off spot after a game against the Hawks that was sure to be a heartbreaker for one of the teams. Big props to my boys in Yellowknife for staying strong and continuing to aim higher every week.
