So many scenarios, but the one that plagues Antoine Delacour the most is... What would have happened if he had just stayed in his lane? See, by choosing to wander outside his lane and speak on the developmental simulation football league's rules on "inactives" (being players who do not attend team training sessions) and how their contracts should be governed, Delacour provoked the ire of super active, totally not awful cornerback and apparently all-round great guy, Kevin Cushing.
It can't be said for certain that Delacour's lane-hopping in any way contributed to the Cushing's meltdown, but it did spawn a meme which may well have meant the career of the worst "elite" cornerback in the league to tailspin into what is increasingly looking like early retirement. At this juncture, it seems that only the copious amounts of TPE Cushing injected in the early days of his career are keeping him on the Liberty roster. And that, friends, is a tragedy.
If not for Delacour -- the DSFL banker -- and his meddling in things that don't concern him (the DSFL), maybe Cushing would have stayed around, and elevated the play of his new defensive back partner Clifford Rove. Maybe he would have made the position switch to quarterback instead of Tyler Oles, given his insane efforts off the field. Who knows?
