What if position switches weren't allowed in this league? Now I'm not talking about moving a tackle to a guard, or a TE to a WR. I'm talking about offensive line to QB, or to RB, or to LB. Imagine the league where those top earners of today's league are still stuck on the line. Imagine the league where guys like Avon Blocksdale and Akselsen are still stuck on the offensive line. It would change everything about this league. Well, most things. Orange county would likely still be on top, and the Outlaws would probably still have won in the early years (multis are a hell of a drug). Otherwise, I believe the rest of the league would be completely different. Hell, every QB in the NSFC conference last year was a position change. Oles, Akselsen, and Blocksdale all came from a different position. It would completely change the free agency and draft as well. Now, positions of need are bid heavily on. A free agent at a not-so popular position would have to be fought for. A QB in the draft would be snagged up really early, instead of now, where we just draft the highest TPE guy and switch him to what we need. Teams would actually draft for need, not just TPE.
But I'm not saying that an LB always needs to play LB. But I don't think he should be able to change his height, skills, or (drastically change) his weight for a position change. I think it's totally fine to make a (example) Safety into a LB, but I think the skill redistribution we have now. That safety switching to LB should keep his stats. I would have liked to see how team building dynamics would have changed if the character creation was more concrete.
