Written: Must Include 150 Words. Not everything has to be about sports, we've seen a plethora of entertainment releases that have caught the eyes of everyone. Whether it's a movie that's receiving critical acclaim, a once in a generation gaming experience, or anything else, there is bound to be some sort of entertainment besides sports that has caught your attention(note, e-sports is not included). Oles has been on the God of War hype train since the newest iteration was announced. With it releasing this past Friday some say he hasn’t put the controller down, forgoing all other concerns to beat this masterpiece at its hardest difficulty possible. An avid gamer and avid story fan, Oles has been preaching about how good the game is to everyone, and even stating that it might be better than last year’s hit, Horizon Zero Dawn. Oles was huge on Horizon hype train as well, and just like that game, God of War has not disappointed, as it’s the early favorite for Game of the Year and has plenty of good reasons why. A vast departure from the God of War games we know, we see Kratos in a whole new way, following via 3rd person perspective, which is extremely different than the hack and slash overhead view we have gotten used to. The game has made the transition well, as combat feels wonderful and the story is amazing, along with a beautiful setting and God of War has been seen in a whole new light. (187 words)
(Seriously, if you are on the fence about God of War, get it, it is fantastic and it’s my Game of the Year already. Going into the Norse setting for Mythology works wonderfully, and it is a thrilling first part of the game.)
