I love movies, but there's something about video games that makes them different from movies. They allow you to interact with the characters. This new element allows you to form more of a bond with characters than movies can ever afford. The single game I've seen do this really well is The Last of Us. This is the one game where I've really cried at anything, or gotten actually angry. Watching Sarah die, watching Ellie sob as she stabs her attempted rapist. This is so impactful because I've lived every moment of her hardship with her. It's crazy how attached you can grow to a character in a game, to the point where by the end of the game you're yelling at the screen in front of you "There's no damn way you're killing her for some bullshit vaccine. Something that you know could save humanity, but she's all of the humanity that's left in Joel. It's just an incredible story.
