You know what. It seems there's new superhero movies coming out every month now. And I'm all for it. I love superhero movies. Watching all the characters that I read about in my childhood suddenly appear on the big screen is great. There are some classic movies that have really made me enjoy the genre. Obviously, the first Iron Man is iconic and it started the entire MCU. It was a pretty darn good movie as well. The first Spider-Man was incredible as well. The Tobey Maguire Spider-Man has a special place in my heart. Recently, I've found less and less hype about these movies though. The all seem kind of repetitive. They're all origin stories with love interest, a bad guy that beats them by exposing a character flaw, and then the hero kills the bad guy which forever closes that arc. Even Black Panther, which everyone says is the greatest superhero movie, has that same arc. Never again will we see anymore development from the villains in that movie. Black Panther now moves on and will probably never mention any character development gained in the first movie ever again. On the other hand, Thor (which most people say is the weakest franchise) has seen some of the best character development because of his long term, consistent battle with his villain, Loki. That being said, Infinity War might change the formula. And for that, I'll be forever entertained by this upcoming movie.
