When Brad is always feeling down, he watches the original The Longest Yard with Burt Reynolds. That movie is a cinematic masterpiece from the acting, to the characters. The story might seem a little cliche, but there's actually a good amount of depth in the movie. A washed up quarterback heads to prison and is forced into playing a game against the warden's team. At the start it may seem a bit dull, but for the most part it gets going quickly when Burt Reynolds starts to experience some police brutality. Despite being based in fiction, the movie is a decent portrayal of what football in the 20th century was. Rules barely existed, and those that did weren't intended to protect players to any significant degree. This is the same style of football that was in North Dallas Forty, another stellar movie. If you have the time on your hands, both of these movies are a must watch, and you won't regret it.
