On a local radio station, Charlie Law is answering questions.
Host- Charlie, any comments on the Smitfter story that broke about him being caught at an orgy? Sources claim you were there.
Charlie- I was. I was checking out the venue for a future wedding reception. Found the caterer, too. Who knew orgies got catered?
Host- Did you.....participate?
Charlie- Nope. Observer only. And observing poor Smifty TRY to participate was just......there aren't words.
Host- Are you worried about backlash for this form the team or the league?
Law just giggles.
Charlie- Not really no. This league mostly stays out of the way of it's players and the Second Line isn't exactly trying to BE a Disney organization to begin with. Plus, I think everyone knows by now what I am. I'm versatile. I mean, I'm on Sesame Street next week.
Host- So let's talk about the trade deadline. It's in a couple days and I have to wonder if there's anyone you'd love to see join the Second Line.
Charlie- Well of course. There's always people you'd like to see. Dermot Levelle is a guy I love and respect. He'd be great. It's just highly unlikely it happens. That's the thing. Speculation is all well and good but it would be tough to see how something like that happens. But I mean, if we wanted to go a bit more realistic I'd talk about Nick Pierno. he's a guy I've always respect for his tough journey and now that he's moved to the d-line, he's been successful getting to the quarterback and really giving himself a great shot at a second half of his career where he's not the butt of cheap jokes. I respect the hell out of what he's done to fight through it all his entire career while getting dumped on for things that weren't really his fault to begin with. C.A. is another one. We could bring back the trio of Dustin, him, and I and see if we could get crazy together for a few more years. I can't imagine a single defensive coordinator who'd be happy to see that squad reunited.
Host- All right. A lot of insight and as usual, blunt and honest. It's one of the reasons I think this city has embraced you this season.
Charlie- They still haven't stopped handing me alcohol. Po Boys now, too. It's...it's the opposite of a problem.
Host- Gotta love this city. Now let's take a few callers. First up. You're on the air with Charlie Law.
Caller- Did i read right that your old team's former owner got run over by a tractor?
