The only appropriate halftime show for the NSFL isn’t a show at all. Instead, we have a need for some civility, some somberness, and some reflection in these trying times for both the league and the world at large. There are terrible things going on, and our halftime “entertainment” should reflect this.
No, instead of a raucous, frenetic halftime show like that other league chooses to do, we should have a twenty-minute moment of silence. It would be in remembrance of all of those who have lost their lives trying to make the world a better place. Those who fought and died for our right to celebrate how we choose. I’m talking, of course, about those who have lost their lives during Super Bowl halftime shows.
There’s the kid who took a selfie with Justin Timberlake. There’s the notoriously exuberant Left Shark from Katy Perry’s performance. And we must never forget the greatest sacrifice of all: Janet Jackson’s boob. May all of these brave souls RIP in peace forevermore.
