The first job that Blackford Oakes held besides being a professional National Simulation Football League player was being a secret agent for a very shady organization dedicated to advancing the cause of Good throughout the land and I can't reveal too much because otherwise I'd be spoiling upcoming issues of my best selling serial "The Connor Tanner Chronicles" but rest assured that stopping Connor Tanner from coercing, forcing, bamboozling, hoodwinking, blackmailing, extorting, and otherwise convincing ~TOTALLY ACTIVE AND PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF THE LEAGUE~ into retirement against their will in his bid to destabilize the National Simulation Football League and pave the way for his secretive master to enact his plot for world domination and besides that Oakes also moonlights as an officiator of weddings and he has offered his services to Borkus Maximus III and Terrell Brister for their upcoming nuptials which are really the talk of the league at the moment it's a huge event.
