Written: Must include 200 words. Most people have a draft party for the time they get drafted. Whether you're getting drafted this season, or have already been drafted, describe what your draft party was like or will be like. Was it only family and close friends or did you go out to a bar waiting for your name to be called.
Lavelle's draft night and part was a little different. Sure there had been considerably hype in the build up to the S2 NSFL Draft, you had mock drafts, the combine, interviews and the whole shabang.
But something was different for Lavelle, unlike the 50 or so other prospects in the S2 draft, Lavelle knew exactly where he was going, he had for the last few months. Since Yellowknife traded for the #1 S2 pick and beyond. Lavelle was so far ahead of his class in terms of development both due to the sheer amount of commitment and work ethic he showed to the game and the season of play he was blessed with during his waiver season in season 1.
Fast forward to the actual night of the draft, where most prospects and upcoming NSFL rookies would either be at home with their families or there at the actual draft ceremony. Lavelle was situated in the back, in the green room to be exact. The room was empty, save for a single picture. That picture of course showed the previous #1 pick in NSFL history, the notorious JJ Reigns. Reigns of course belonged to the equally infamous "Shaka" agency who talked a big game but when push came to shove left us with more cringe worthy quotes than pro bowl appearances.
