(S8) - PT 1 - Draft Party

Written: Must include 200 words. Most people have a draft party for the time they get drafted. Whether you're getting drafted this season, or have already been drafted, describe what your draft party was like or will be like. Was it only family and close friends or did you go out to a bar waiting for your name to be called.

I bet everyone has a great story about their draft party. Seems like crazy stuff always happens to other people. For me personally, the party I held at my parents house was great fun, but nothing silly.

I invited my team mates from UC Davis, staff and close friends of mine. My father reved up the grill and we had a cook off with great food. We speculated how the NSFL would form as at the time it was a new league and there were questions why I did not sign up for the NFL draft. The NSFL just sounded more interesting as a complete new league.

After we were done eating we enjoyed the lovely weather we had at the time, swimming in the pool and playing a little backyard football. One of my friends brought his sound system with him so we also had some sweet tunes playing.

The evening ended with a big goodbye to everyone who was at the party. I would be traveling to Baltimore the next day to finalize the contract. All in all it was a very rememberable night, because I got to spend it with the people who mean most to me. Which at the end of the day I think is most important.
