If I could make one change to my game and my strengths as a player, it would be to focus on speed sooner. With that said, I’m still happy to have maxed my speed early in only my second season in the NSFL. But I feel that if I hadn’t thought that I needed to build up a bit of strength in order to be an effective receiver in the league, or that I had to have crazy agility to be able to dance around guys out in the open field, and instead just focused on blowing past guys and running deep routes, some of my numbers could have been better both in the DSFL and in my rookie season. I mean, only two touchdowns combined between a season in the DSFL and the NSFL is pretty weak, regardless of the teams I play on. Now that my speed is up, I’ve already got two touchdowns on the season – equal to my career regular season total across both leagues to that point – and look ready to score more. In fact, I was even the league leader in YPC for a little while. I wonder if I could have nabbed the OROY award if I’d just been that little bit faster…
