The record for most surprising performance in a season might just go to the Colorado Yeti this year. (I know there’s technically no such record, but maybe there should be just so we can win it. After all, it’d be nice to win something after what we’ve gone through.) After going completely winless in the last two seasons, we’re now sitting a at a comfortable (and shocking) 3-3 record. We’ve beaten a couple of teams who are clearly in a rebuild phase in the Arizona Outlaws and the San Jose Sabercats. The really surprising bit, though, was a 20-17 victory over the perennial contender Orange County Otters. These guys are looking likely to challenge for the Ultimus again this year, and the Yeti came in and beat them on their own turf. I’m not saying the Yeti are going to win out or anything this year, but starting off at 3-3 is a complete and total shock to just about everyone in the league. Thus, Most Surprising Performance goes to… the Season 8 Colorado Yeti!
