Numerous teams around the NSFL now have to be looking for their quarterbacks of the future, particularly the Yellowknife Wraiths and the Orange County Otters, both of which have some of the most veteran quarterbacks in the league with Matt Akelsen and Mike Boss respectively.
While neither teams should commit to a full on rebuild due to this, both of these teams are expected to make significant moves at the quarterback position just so they have a back-up plan for when their current starters begin to regress and slow down. A solid back-up plan, typically a young quarterback who is able to step in seamlessly into the NSFL, is the key recipe for the ability to consistently compete for the Ultimus Trophy.
So what should these teams do then?
The obvious answer is to start rebuilding at the quarterback position by acquiring some of the younger talents available in the NSFL and DSFL, either via trading, drafting or signing these youthful talents. Some of these talents are available in the upcoming S9 NSFL Entry Draft, with the mobile Andreas Metaxas and the pocket passer Gus TT. Showbiz both options for either the Otters or the Wraiths. Either way, whatever these teams may choose, the demand to rebuild right now at the QB position isn't too pressing, but it should be something they should keep their eyes on.
