Shannon Hobbs is preparing for his first season in the DSFL by training in Muck City, Florida. This is where guys like Fred Taylor and Santonio Holmes started their path to the NFL. Every winter, they set the sugar cane leaves on fire before harvesting the cane. This forces the rabbits to scatter and begins the real training. Hobbs, and several athletes from all over the country, must brave the smoke and flames to catch the rabbits. This place is a hotbed for training all types of athletes; football players, basketball players, even hockey players, travel from far and wide to get in on the action. It is the ultimate test in speed, agility, and acceleration. For some, this is a great way to train, for others, this is a way to make a living, and what a living it is. The median income of Muck City is about $27,000 but this "job" pays three bucks per rabbit caught. Some bring BB guns, some bring their dogs, but all of them bring hard work and determination.
