Someone told me that I may still have the ability to comment on this thread. This will be the last post I make before observing my 2-week ban. I hope that the mods will allow it to stay.
As others have said, I did approach HO & inform them of what I did. The message made available on the first page was unsolicited and I came forward on my own. I appreciate the transparency with which that was handled.
Admittedly, I have been curious about the multi thing for a while. I'm fully aware that it's against the rules, but something about it seemed intriguing. I wasn't doing it to spy on other teams or give my team an advantage, though admittedly those are both unintended outcomes and good reasons why it is against the rules. On Wednesday, I was just bored and finally said "what the hell, let's make one". And then about an hour later, I completely regretted it. Sometimes, you're curious about things and have to try them to realize they're not for you. Late Thursday night, I made the decision to approach HO and try to put this behind me. The idea that I might get caught down the road and severely damage my reputation wasn't worth it in hindsight. I've worked for over a year to build a good reputation here and this is a blight on that. I hope that my decision to come forward will count for something in the long run.
I fully stand by the decision of HO and am not appealing. Multis are a serious issue and I expected a serious punishment when I went to HO. This allows me to make amends and I'm satisfied with my decision to come forward. I regret making the mutli obviously, but all I can do at this point is apologize and carry myself in an ethical manner when I return. I have apologized to my GM and teammates already. I also want to apologize to the rest of the league. Admittedly, this was a calculated decision, but one that I fortunately came to regret before it did any lasting harm.
