In Howard Miller’s first season within the NSFL system as a whole, playing in the DSFL, he and the Kansas City Coyotes came tantalisingly close to winning the Ultimini, upsetting their division rivals the Portland Pythons in the conference championship to go on to face San Antonio in the big game. Unfortunately, they would lose that game 23 – 13. In his six years in the NSFL since that season, as part of the Colorado Yeti, he has made the playoffs three times, but is yet to progress beyond the first game. He desperately wants a shot to prove himself on the biggest stage of all, and he likely would be a key component to a championship run, as his current playoff stats reflect.

Though a championship wouldb be huge for Howard Miller, it would undoubtedly mean more for the state of Colorado as a whole. In their 12 seasons since helping found the NSFL, they have only brushed with the championship once, in Season 1, when they were handily beaten by the Arizona Outlaws. Despite having some forays into the post season, the years that followed also included consecutive winless seasons, and not much on the whole to be excited about. If the Yeti team this season could pull off what no other has been able to before it, they may well shut the whole state down to celebrate.
