Oh man, where to do I start, honestly? I know, with a story. A few seasons ago, back when the NSFL twitter first started, I got a follow from a team in the Simulation Football League. Both me and Deathonreddit tried to check it out, and so with the help of other sim leaguers, my player was built. Holy crap did that league give me an appreciation for this one. Like, I don’t think anyone gets how crazy good the community and development is here. Yes, the SFL has the better sim, it is a better sim product, but the advantages really end and start there. Player progression for the SFL is showing up, and updating one skill by one point once a week, there’s no way to get ahead by being lucky (predictions and stuff) so teams that start strong either get lucky or continue strong, and the community is flat out bland. The team locker rooms feel stuffy and it feels like the sim being the best around claim honestly made it that much worse because it didn’t feel like there was a connection outside of it, and no real desire to, we were too focused on the sim, because we didn’t have a draft or budget, there was no allegiance to anything. I end with this, My GM in my SFL team and I were with each other for most of the regular season. After my player was created I never spoke to him or heard from him again. NSFL has the best community around.
