I'm usually not a fan of Junior leagues in sim leagues. I'm the guy who just wants to play out his draft year, get drafted, and go straight to the big leagues. When I joined this league, I had the same mentality. However, things changed when I went through my first year in the DSFL.
I was drafted into the DSFL by the Tijuana Luchadores. I didn't have any expectations of them or the league because I was so new to it all. Luckily for me, it worked out tremendously. Tijuana was a great place to start my journey, plus we had a kick ass team. I remember that I wasn't the first wide receiver drafted, Vinny Valentine was, so I had a chip on my shoulder. In my rookie season, I put up 1003 yards and 5 touchdowns, won DSFL wide receiver of the year, and also put up 156 yards and 1 touchdown in the playoffs, en route to winning the Season 8 Ultimini Championship. Now, usually, I would be done with developmental leagues, but when the SaberCats drafted me and said I would be going down for another year, I was weirdly OK with it. We had a great season in Tijuana and now I could go back down and try to get back-to-back championships. Little did I know that Season 9 in the DSFL would be my coming out party. In that season, I put up 1361 yards and 13 touchdowns to go along with 202 yards and 3 touchdowns in the playoffs. We won back-to-back Ultimini championships, I won back-to-back DSFL wide receiver of year trophies, and also added DSFL MVP.
Season 9 in the DSFL really put me on the map as a star wide receiver in this league. I retired from the DSFL as the leader in all wide receiver categories, cementing myself as arguably the best DSFL player in its' history. Those were my best times in the DSFL and I'm grateful for every minute I spent in that league.
