Being around for the formation of the DSFL was fun. I joined just in time to enter the inaugural DSFL draft. I wasn’t around for the initial NSFL draft, so taking part in the first DSFL draft was kind of cool. It was also neat seeing trivia about the DSFL from my first go with the league, S4. The league has probably changed a lot, but in my second experience with it, it seemed fine. It’s a good place for players to show whether they have it or not. NSFL teams can send the players down and monitor whether they will be the stars of the future. Other developmental leagues could take a look at what DSFL does right and seek to replicate it. I can vouch that DSFL was a pleasurable experience, some other junior leagues on the other hand are tedious and boring. I’ve lost my interest with the college system of a league. Having a developmental league is something I would like to see in real life as well, since there are so many kids from college not getting the opportunity to go pro because of the limited roster slots. The DSFL provides a great alternative for players not quite ready to break into the NSFL.
