The San Jose Sabercats aren't looking good this year. There best bet is to play for the future.
They already started this off by trading an extra DT for an active QB due to the fact that Jameis Christ has been under performing and not updating regularly. Most other teams are in play-off contention and it would be easy enough to see long term value gains by trading off high TPE players that aren't as active for less TPE players that are more active. A good example of this would be trading Alexander Selich for an active Defensive end. Unfortunately for the sabercats, one of their Defensive Ends is retiring, and between that and trading away Bert Metas, that leaves their defensive line pretty thin. They were having issues at LB but A. C. Hackett stepped up and they just got recruited another LB off of free agency. It's also possible that the sabercats could go in to total rebuild mode and try and trade players for draft picks as well... however this would be pretty risky (due to the fact that it's impossible to guess how active new players will be.
Anyways, I have faith that the sabercats will turn it around and be a contender in the future, even if this year hasn't gone well for them.
