This season has definitely been a rollercoaster, but two teams want to make some big waves in before the deadline to try to earn the Ultimus Trophy this year or next. The Orange County Otters, and the Yellowstone Wraiths.
Let's start with the Otters. Orange County's front office, having just traded quarterback Ethan Hunt to the San Jose Sabercats, was a little upset. Not because they feel they were ripped off, but because they misunderstood what it takes to win. Thinking that you need four quarterbacks to win a game, because there are four quarters, the Otters originally grabbed 5 quarterbacks in the draft. After some positional changes, and the recent trade, the Otters are left with only two quarterbacks. The front office is desperately trying to get two more to get those wins, so trades have been a bit insane.
I believe they will be offering entire portions of their defense to try and snag a couple QBs. Maybe all of their LBs for VDrax, or even all of their D Line for Jameis Christ. Don't rule any of these out as possibilities.
As for the Wraiths, having given up on this year, will look to make a splash to build for the future. I have heard rumors of trying to trade Josh Garden for the low low price of a teams first through fifth round pick. A bargain for a team looking for an elite Receiving threat. The Wraiths will look to build through the draft and hope that their rookies can keep up with other vets by using a better understanding of stat distribution.
