6) Our Time
All I have to say here is that I play on the Portland Pythons and that should be enough to not go into more detail, but that isn't 200 words. Portland led the league in points scored by 30, points allowed by 50, wins by 2.5, passing touchdowns by 8, yards per pass attempt, completion percentage, defensive touchdowns, sacks allowed by 15(!), and total yards. Our two losses against playoff teams were road games when both San Antonio and Tijuana were at their peaks. Almost every measure had Portland rated at #1 and it's impossible to think we aren't the favorites. With great QB play and a fantastic defense, Portland secured home field advantage and easily beat both Tijuana and Kansas City at home, which are our two likely opponents in the playoffs. We also have only lost a single game at home, which was a meaningless game for us in the last week of the season. Our two lowest point totals were against an expansion team and our losses were solely because of turnovers. In no way should Portland lose in these playoffs. We have the best wide receiver, the best cornerback, and definitely the best quarterback in the league. This is a team stacked with talent and it would be a massive disappointment to come up short of an Ultimini win.
9) Enemies
Imagine being a GM (@Hallmonitor_20) and you're literally so bad at tight end that your quarterback still doesn't throw you the ball. Yes, I'm talking about overrated Zach "I'm your rival now" Hall. This guy couldn't even threaten his quarterback enough to throw it to him a few times. He went the entire season with an impressive zero touchdowns. In fact, Hall was so bad at tight end that he had to switch to defensive end as an attempt to be meaningful in some way. Sure, he'll get drafted higher now, but he threw away all of his dignity and switched to defense. Despicable. Loyalty to your position is completely lost on Hall. Now don't even get me started on Joseph "I need a rival" Wottaqs (@illegaloctopus). This dude couldn't defend an old lady in a Walmart parking lot and he somehow wants to come after me for, what? Being a better player? He was a no-show in the biggest game of the year, not even making a single play until making a meaningless tackle on a drive where they gave up the winning touchdown. He's a fraud. I hope his team crashes and burns tonight. Tijuana as a team is awful enough without his presence. With Wofgiak, Tijuana's secondary resembles a donut because of the giant hole in the middle. Both of these players are garbage and not even worth considering for a draft pick. At least one of them made the playoffs.
12) Sit down with a Star
For my interview with a star in the DSFL playoffs, I managed to trick Net Gaines (@UpperNet) to agree to an interview.
1. We all know that the Coyotes could have been better this season but they were very good against good teams. You had a very good season yourself. What was your best game in the regular season?
Net: Yea I think we had a solid season could have been better but I'm satisfied. If I had to single out a game I did the best I'd say week 11. I was solid both in the run and coverage in that game.
2. Everyone knows how important team chemistry is in this league. Who has been your favorite teammate in your locker room?
Net: My favorite teammate in the lockeroom is defiantly Korrin Abernathy. We both talked about just stuff around the league sometimes and hope we are in a lockeroom together in the near future.
3. Again, Kansas City really upped their level of play against the top teams this year. What do your Coyotes need to improve on to take the next step the win the Ultimini?
Net: We just need to focus one game on a time and that would be Portland. Hopefully we all have a good showing today.
4. Just looking at raw numbers, this draft class is stacked at your position. As a middle-late first round prospect, what makes you stand out compared to other linebackers?
Net: If you look at my stats I think that would tell the story of what kind of player I am. I have impressive stats both in tackles and Pass Deflects. I'm a Linebacker who can succeed both in coverage and the run game.
