I'm always tempted to write about the defense of the New Orleans Second Line, whenever I can find the opportunity. But I'm sure people are tired of reading about it (and besides, in terms of fantasy points the Second Line defense has been lackluster this season). So, I'll use this opportunity to brag on one of my teammates instead. Specifically, I'll take a moment to talk about running back Forrest Gump.
Those who own Gump in fantasy are certainly happy with his performance so far this season: he's currently sitting at 117.3 points, the most in the league. He's achieved this status by rushing for 625 yards and 7 touchdowns (both league highs), while also picking up 128 receiving yards. For those of us in the New Orleans locker room, Gump's success--both on the field and in fantasy--is no surprise. He's shown from day one that he's a competitor and someone who will work tirelessly to improve, and all that hard work is starting to pay off. Even back when Gump and I first found ourselves teammates in the Prospect Bowl (Grizzly Gang!), I knew he was gonna be something special. I'm incredibly proud to be his teammate and his friend, and I'm really starting to regret not playing fantasy this season. With any luck, he'll continue this dominance through next season, and I'll get to take him with my first pick in the fantasy draft.
