I want to preface this by saying that as a North Carolinian that now lives in Indiana, fuck the snow and cold. I'll take my humidity in the summer any day over how cold it gets here. For the New Orleans Second Line the players who thrive in the snow are the guys in the trenches. Bjorn Ironside, who is already having a great rookie season at defensive tackle, will only get better in cold weather. Bjorn is one of those guys who wear shorts all year round and seem to be oblivious to snow unlike us mere mortals. I'm over here wearing long sleeves and have a huge coat on trying to keep warm on the sideline, but Bjorn seems to gain energy from the cold and snow. I would be remiss to not mention Quentin Bode in the Second Line players who seem to turn it up a notch in the cold. What a tackling freak. When I tackle someone in the cold it hurts. When Bode hits someone in the cold they hurt. The man sweats in 20°F temperature like its 90°F outside, it doesn't make sense, but damn is he good. My scrawny ass might fall off in the cold, but I know Bode will make the tackle I missed trying to pick my frozen ass off the turf.
