All things considered, you do have a strong case. However with the strength of your team's defense a lot of your success might come from your teammates generating pressure. Good example, Teagarden is an inactive player and somehow still has pretty solid numbers because of our defense's ability to create pressure. 

When it came time to make a decision, I went with Tomlinson over you because he is by far the #1 guy on that great OCO DL and because he generated slightly more pressure. You are a big impact in the run game, which helped you to get a lot of TFLs and FFs. When I look at DEs I'm more inclined to salivate over a guy with more stripes in the passing game, though. You are pretty much without a doubt the next guy I'd pick at DE, since it was really close with you and Tomlinson. If you had another sack or two, you'd have gotten my vote TBH.

DE is a tough position compared to everything else. While you have 5 OL making the pro-bowl, you only have 4 DL and 4 LBs. If it was up to me, I'd make it 3 DEs per conference to balance it, but since the cutoff is 2 DE per conference, Tomlinson edged by you because of the sacks and circumstances.

I do think your player is awesome and deserves to be a pro-bowler. If you're not making it this year, just use it as a chip on your shoulder for next season, man. You weren't even in the S1 draft? and you're probably a top 5 DE in the entire league already. You have a lot to look forward to and I wouldn't let getting snubbed on some slight technicalities get you down.

I understand completely what you are saying. Thank you for your input to my article. I also felt 3 DE is a better number but I see why the cutoff is at 2. Your perspective is definitely correct in a different way, just a little different from mine. But thank you, I will try to make it next season if I don't make it this season.
