We’re only in the first season of the NSFL, so there aren’t a lot of traditions yet. There is one that has started in Colorado, but hopefully it doesn’t continue. When the team was looking for a sound to play when the Yeti had a big play or a scored, they tried a few things. One of those is the sound a yeti makes. Unfortunately, no one knows what a yeti sounds like, so they just used a recording of the wookie noise that Chewbacca makes, whatever you want to call it. A roar, I guess? It wasn’t supposed to catch on, but for some reason, the fans latched on to it. They started to make their own wookie noises along with the sound as it was played in the stadium. It’s a really awful sound to hear thousands of people all making their own terrible renditions of a wookie noise. All the players hate it, even the Colorado players. It’s that bad. Hopefully, the fans will realize how obnoxious this is, and stop doing after this season. Then they can come up with a better tradition that the team can be proud of, and will last a long time. Until then, don’t forget your earplugs if you’re coming to a game in Denver.
