Someone could spend an hour or two putting together a 1000 word article and get paid more than someone putting several hours of work on a 5/5 graphic (1.5M). A 4/5 graphic is equivalent to a 650 word article (1M). A 3/5 is equivalent to a 475 word article (700K).
Graphics take more time to create (especially for newbies) than it does to write articles, and isn't paid adequately enough. Plus, while there is a bonus for good media, there isn't a real punishment or grading scale for bad media.
5/5s are works of art essentially, and they should be paid off as such. Perhaps a top payout of 2.5M (equivalent to a 1500 word article) would be more adequate, while a 4/5 gets 1.5M, and a 3/5 gets 1M. Obviously, 1/5 should stay as low-effort 150K, but even 2/5 could stand to use a pay raise.
At least the 4 per week cap is gone, but if you’re in that 3-4 range, it doesn’t pay nearly as well as media does.
The issue is always how to quantify time invested in a graphic. With articles it’s easy cause of word count, it’s a tangible number you can base something off of it.
