6) Next Year
Written: If your team didn’t win the title this year, why do you believe they can win the next year (or the year after that)?
Another season of not making it to the playoffs for the Tijuana Luchadores this year. Our dominant years seem a long time ago. We have a good team but things just did not go our way in several games we have played. Seeing other teams made it to the playoffs and winning the Ultimini lit a fire in our locker room. I believe, we have a good chance of not only make it to the playoffs but also winning the Ultimini. Why am I so confident? Well, to start, we will have several capped players coming back to play for another season. The QB duo, Ben Slothlisberger and Jim Waters, are going to be back to lead the Luchadores offense again. The offense will have no problem moving the ball with two excellent players passing the ball. In addition to them, Calvin Golladay, the wall protecting the QB, is also capped and has a chance of coming back to play. In the backfield, Richard Gilbert and Julio Tirtawidjaja have almost capped their TPE and should be by the beginning of S22. On defense, the Tijuana Luchadores will also be returning high TPE players, such as Hexagon, Mithrandir, Corpsegrinder, Ugarth, and Magnus Valdyr. Errors that happened this season will become fewer and with improved skills, they can shut down other teams’ offenses. Time to look forward to the Luchadores smashing all the teams in the DSFL next season.

This is a tribute to Richard Gilbert, the Tijuana Luchadores’ other rookie running back. As a fellow back, he knows and understands the struggle and hard work needed to succeed off and on the field. Even though we may be competing for the starting spot, we are teammates first and foremost. Ron Gilbert has been a great help and support in the locker room. He has never trash-talked anyone and even when he has more playtime than I do, he still gets hyped when I get carries. Now I’m going to say that Robert Gilbert is a beast on the field. Gilbert became the first rookie running back this season to reach 10 rushing touchdowns. He is also a very productive dual-threat running back, attacking opposing teams both on the ground and on the air. The fact that he shared the backfield with two other running backs, one of them being NOLA Second Line’s Wombat and still able to produce such numbers certainly showed his great potential. Whichever team drafts him will get accomplished and committed player that can contribute to helping the team win the Ultimus. He is also a great locker room presence who actively interact with veterans and new people alike. Although the chances of us being in the same team again in the NSFL is very slim, I can’t wait to play with him again together next season with the Tijuana Luchadores.

Written: Write a scouting report for one of the incoming draftees in either the NSFL or DSFL.
Julio Tirtawidjaja has been developing well this season after his late start in the offseason and seems to be on an upward trend in regards to his TPE, just 10 short of becoming capped for the DSFL. But then, why is he not regarded as an elite prospect? The answer is the lack of on-field production. Yes, you read that right, he’s had 13 carries this whole season. Tirtawidjaja is the definition of fresh legs. He was still able to convert those carries into two rushing touchdowns. Any NSFL teams that draft him will probably gamble on his potential and look at his production in the DSFL next season. Tirtawidjaja’s on-field performance is still shrouded in mystery, which also isn’t helped by his surprise start as QB during one of Tijuana Luchadores’ games this past season. He threw for a touchdown in that game but for some reason not recorded in the stats sheet. Fans that were at the stadium are still convinced that the touchdown pass was real but noticed something to be different in Tirtawidjaja’s appearance as he was looking very Jim Watersesque. But, Julio Tirtawidjaja seems to have improved a lot, especially during the off-season. One of his flaws last season was his speed where he was one of the slowest running backs in this draft class. But he seems to have fixed that with his speed at 90 now. Expect a bigger production from Tirtawidjaja’s upcoming season with the Luchadores as he pairs up with Richard Gilbert in Tijuana’s backfield.

Julio Tirtawidjaja has been selected to become the face of Cholula. The Mexican hot sauce brand approached the running back from the Luchadores as he is known league-wide as a hot sauce enthusiast. Cholula hopes with their sponsorship with Julio Tirtawidjaja, they can start their venture into American Football and hopefully become the official hot sauce part of the NSFL. Julio Tirtawidjaja’s first commercial with Cholula will start with him being slow and lethargic in the first half of the game, fumbling the ball and get tackled easily. He is going to get berated by his coaches and booed by the crowd. Then, he is seen in the locker room in between halves and he checks his bag; there is a bottle of Cholula in his bag. In a throwback reference to Space Jam, he grabs the Cholula bottle and empties it into a water bottle marked “Special Stuff.” Julio Tirtawidjaja will chug the whole thing and comes out of the locker room. He plays amazing in the second half, juking defenders left and right, stiff-arming them into the abyss, then scoring the game-winning touchdown. Before the commercial ends, Julio Tirtawidjaja is going to say “Cholula goes good with everything, even plain water,” while he winks to the camera before the commercial ends.
