Agreed that the worst part of this league is its economy. It's so easy to make money and there is nothing to spend it on. This means that many players take minimum salaries and teams can't lure free agents with big salary offers.

I think there's a difficult balance to strike though. You see this in all games. It would be really cool and immersive if people actually wanted to chase big contracts. But the only reason they'd want to, is if they needed to.

We'd have to make training/equipment much more expensive, or jobs and media and graphics pay much less. Maybe both. The situation you might run into is that by making things more grind-y, people who don't do as much of this are put off and lose interest in the league. With lots of RPGs people either play loads or not at all because of mechanics like this.

I'd rather have contracts be unrealistic than make them more realistic but put some users off as a result.
