I think the most likely scenario is another meeting between the Yellowknife Wraiths and OC Otters. I think those two teams are the class of their respective conferences. It would be an interesting matchup if they meet in the Ultimus. For one, if they end up with the same regular season record, we won’t know for sure who this garbage sim engine will give home field advantage too. In the past there have been three instances where the Ultimus participants had the same regular season record, and the only common deciding factor among those three meetings was head to head record. But the Wraiths and Otters don’t play each other in the regular season this year, so if they meet up with the same records who the fuck knows what this sim engine will do, it could be conference record or points scored. Two dark horse teams that could make a run are the Yeti and Second Line. Both are very strong teams, but will have to win on the road if they want to earn an Ultimus berth. My player Quaid will be much more of an impact player than he was last season, he’ll be in the middle of the defense flying around making plays. I want to win this Ultimus bigly, my more experienced teammates in Yellowknife have had enough heartbreak. (224 words)
