For Brandon Booker and the Philadelphia Liberty, the playoffs essentially start in Week 12. If the Liberty lose at home to the Sailfish, then Sarasota will lock up the third seed while Philadelphia's season will be over. Booker has been playing at a potential Defensive Rookie of the Year level after being selected with the fourth overall pick, with his three interceptions tied-1st among rookies and his 16 passes defended tied-2nd among rookies. Continuing this good play will be crucial if Philadelphia are to make the playoffs and then be successful in them, as they look ahead to matchups against potent passing offenses with talented wide receivers.

The favourites, and likely number one seeds in their respective conferences - as they were last year - are the Yellowknife Wraiths and Orange County Otters. Both teams sit at 9-2, and the Wraiths have clinched the number one seed in the NSFC. In the ASFC Orange County needs one more win,or one more loss from each of San Jose and New Orleans, in order to achieve the same.

The dark horse team is the Austin Copperheads, currently 4th in the ASFC. They made several moves to try and win a championship this year, such as trading for running back Ryan Leaf Jr, and much of the core of their team is S15 and S16 players who are at the peaks of their careers. They're on a win streak and control their own destiny, with games against San Jose and New Orleans that could catapult them into the playoffs.
