This is a very well-articulated argument, and I actually partially agree. I described myself as either an ally or a cancer, depending on the culture. You did a good job about hitting my side of the situation before weighing in on why you disagree with my decision. It was responsible and showed a lot of class.

I will hit one thing though

To me, a rookie should be smart about the words he has spoken and the path he walks. Plenty of teams will look past someone who acts entitled, or doesn’t seem like a team player.

I completely agree with this statement, but it wasn't entirely the shot in the foot you might think. Several teams reached out and let me know they liked seeing that I was passionate about wanting to make wherever I played as good as I could make it, and not just focusing on my own abilities. Ironically, I showed myself to be more of a team player. I burned some bridges, yes, but also strengthened others.
