That's two pieces of pro gear and a weekly training right there with money left over, and without being one cent in debt. I get that you've gotten some players overestimating the value of their pending work, but instead of cutting this off cold turkey, couldn't we instead say that you simply can't go below ZERO for gear, but still allow pending work? This would ensure that no one came close to the -2 million cut off.
Additionally, why not hire more graders? I have been active as shit and volunteered for the job, but was passed over (incidentally, by a GM who passed me over multiple times in the draft). So now I have to start the season with less gear despite working my ass off to earn the money AND responsibly posting my pending work AND volunteering to help work on the backlog.
