Let's Write Player Archetype Descriptions!

DE, Speed Rusher - known for being explosive and agile, usually lighter than an average DL. Primary purpose is to chase down QB's, blow up plays in the backfield off the edge, and have some ability to drop in the flats/short zone and stop screens/routes out the backfield/QB Runs. 

DE, Run Stopper - Bigger DE's that can fight off blocks to stop outside runs or reroute on counter/misdirection plays and stop inside runs. Teams often run opposite their side. Not as agile to drop in pass coverage.

DE, Power Rusher - Strong linemen that match strength with the best O-linemen. Best attribute is blowing up their gap, caving the offensive line, and likely creating open lanes for teammates to make the splash play. However, has great ability to create own splash plays in unlikely scenarios.

DE, Balanced - well rounded linemen that have the power to shed blocks, agility to drop in coverage, and the ability to recognize and play the run and pass effectively


DT, Nose Tackle - usually a solid mix of great size and strength to play over the center, but enough speed and agility to break through and disrupt both run and pass plays

DT, Run Stuffer - big, strong behemoths that eat up double teams. What they lack in speed, agility, and endurance they make up for with titanic size and strength and ability to drag down the strongest of running backs.

DT, Interior Rusher - usually the smaller DT builds, often will play over the guard and favor speed and agility over power. Can usually chase down screens and misdirection plays before reaching the second level.

DT, Balanced - linemen with varying size and an even mix of athleticism and power. The smarter half find their way to the ball just as often as, or even more than, their more physically imposing linemates.
