After beginning the season 1-3, the Orange County Otters are looking upon dark times. After finishing with a league-leading (tied) 9-5 record in the first season of the National Simulation Football League, the Otters made low-key but safe moves in the offseason.
All signs pointed toward another successful season. The Otters started the season with three of their first four games on the road. The Otters were unable to overcome the home-field advantage and dropped all three road games. Many around the league are questioning whether the Orange County Otters deserved their pre-season hype.
After a 1-3 start, the Orange County Otters will recover and make a triumphant return to the playoffs. Not only that, but they will do it as regular season champions and ASFC first seeds. They will be led by none-other than beleaguered quarterback Mike Boss. Boss, the thrower of interceptions, taker of sacks and lord of bad field position, first of his name. He shall make a turnaround in his second season and start throwing dramatically better. He will lead the league in yards and touchdowns thrown, as well as not be first overall in interceptions. Perhaps the boldest prediction of them all: The Otters will win the Ultimus Cup, not off the strength of their defense, but by the arm of Mike Boss.
