As a rookie, it's hard to have an established rivalry. However, that doesn't mean there's not names out there that give a guy goosebumps. There's no single man that I fear or that I can consider a rival yet, so I'm going to go over some of the guys who I want to humiliate on the field.
C.A. Chess is the first name I'm going to mention. He was drafted in the same class as I, and like myself he's been a good producer off of the field. I see a lot of future talent in this young player and lining up against him would be a privilege. Preventing him from catching a single pass would be an honor. I have a lot of respect for him, obviously, since there were plenty of receivers taken in this year and he's the one I want to challenge most. Sadly, I'll have to wait until week 3 to go toe to toe with this rook.
The next rookie receiver that I want to test out comes in week 4. Jon Ross has impressed me and I want to see what he can bring in the field. He's definitely gonna see what I can bring. Deflections and interceptions. Ross has good speed and a great head on his shoulders, so I can actually see him getting a few receptions, but his YAC is going to be atrocious. He's gonna be calling me Afghan because I'm gonna be blanketing him all game!
Lastly, I'm thinking ahead to next week when my Otters go up against the Wraiths. All their receivers command respect. No doubt about that one, but the guy I want to test out is Chris Orosz. Yes, the QB. I want him to throw at me all day. That way I know we will win when I stop all his passes. But we all know he's gonna avoid me like the plague. He is too smart to throw at me. He's gonna hand that rock off over and over because he fears Petrakis and I.
I would have included someone in the Hawks, but since that game is over, no sense in calling anyone out. It was a solid game. Come regular season though, I got some smack to lay down on Cooper Christmas.
