After being passed in the last game of the season for receiving yards, Phelps has definitely circled the game against the Yellowknife Wraiths this pre-season, where he can go head to head with the "so called" number one wide receiver in the league, Josh Garden. Robert Phelps had a fantastic first pre-season game against the Hawks, despite his team losing the game, Phelps was the offensive player of the game after receiving 8 catches for 110 yards and 1 touchdown. If everything goes according to plan, Phelps hopes to carry that momentum forward through to week 3 of pre-season, where he can match up head to head with his rival in receiving numbers from last season. Both players have trained hard in the off-season and seem ready to get at it here in season 2. By some accounts, Garden has got himself into a bit of better shape than Phelps, his speed and agility are said to be top notch coming into this years. Maybe Phelps' ability to hold onto catches will be enough to put him a step above, but at this point it seems unlikely that Phelps will be able to keep up the way he did last season.
