The friendly rookie RB rivalry between Ardie Savea and Darlane Farlane has been discussed in the media before. The first match up between the two former team mates came in the pre season although the game was not all it was made out to be. The Las Vegas side showed up mostly hungover, still drunk, or high on any number of substances. The party life for the new team seems to be a bit much so hopefully they will have it out of their system by the time the regular season rolls around. The Vegas coach was so high he sent in a Jugs machine to play QB after the starting QB played for a few minutes before retiring to the sideline to eat chicken wings and count his money. The RBs themselves flashed a little of what they can do, Farlane cracked 100 yards gaining 109 off of 29 carries. Savea wasn’t getting the touches he expected but managed 5.1 yards per carry off of his 7 attempts.
To really compare these two rookie running backs we will have to wait until the Baltimore Hawks play the Las Vegas Legion in the regular season. Hopefully the Vegas side will have sorted out the off-field issues by that time.
