After being drafted to the Butchers, living in Chicago and coming from the ducks in Minnesota I have amassed quite a fortune during my tenure. I’m not the most famous player, and might not even be recognizable to anybody outside of Chicago or Minnesota, or my Hometown in California. But that won’t stop me from helping these communities. One of the biggest issues I see is young Kids getting into trouble because they don’t have a positive role model. That won’t fly with me. That’s why I created the Blackfyre Football Festival. I had a state of the art training facility built in Chicago. I spared no expense. With a full Kitchen, living quarters, event hall, and of course the actual training facility. All domed and indoors to escape the harsh conditions of the Windy City. We bring in up to 200 or more at risk kids from around Chicago as well as bus them over from the home of the Grey Ducks. With position coaches and every piece of equipment you can imagine we run a month long football camp. All amenities included, and completely free for these kids. They can stay out of trouble, make friends, and we even bring in kids from the orphanages to have some fun and learn about football. For many of these kids this gets them off the streets and a warm meal into their bellies. Another aspect I’ve focus on is the homeless. We hire those who unfortunately found themselves on the streets and needing some help. They work as cooks, janitors, and even rotate in helping as coaches to learn about football themselves. At the end we have a big tournament for all the assigned teams with all the kids playing and the homeless as the coaches. This is followed by a concert to end the camp. We’ve had a few big names come and play, and a few kids leave here with actual ideas to join the DSFL. We have aspirations to make this a year long event that will act as a real home for some of these kids and people. Donations have flooded in so I no longer pay out of pocket. The Blackfyre football Festival will become a household name as a nonprofit for at risk youth who will make great friends and maybe one day hit the pros.
