Volunteering and being a part of the community is a big deal for Ace Savage since he grew up struggling to make ends meet and relied on the kindness of strangers to get by during difficult times of his life. Giving back is a big part of his DNA and this season, Savage decided to help volunteer at the local soup kitchen. Savage is an avid cook and once he got on his own in college, he made it a priority to learn how to cook good food to fuel himself properly for workouts. Using this cooking knowledge, he was able to help prep lots of different food for the Norfolk Food Pantry and Kitchen. He spent the week preparing salads, chicken, and even brought out his smoker to make some brisket and ribs as a special treat. To make the occasion more special, he brought out his Norfolk teammates: Benajmin Ankers, Bean Beanman, and Vilhjálmur Kueblerson to help on the serving days and they had a great time helping the local Norfolk community. Afterwards, they brought out some signed footballs to give out to people who attended the event and even played a few hours of catch with everyone. It was a great day for the team, the community, and the less fortunate.
