The Second Line came together to devote some energy toward the community. Professional athletes are in great positions to give back to the community. There is a local nonprofit that meets many needs of the community. They offer emergency clothing and food aid. For example, the seasons change and so does the clothing needs of families. The nonprofit raises funds by holding fundraising events monthly. I think it would be a great way to tap into the generosity of football fans. Selling autographs and photos for the nonprofit could raise a good deal of money. Then, holding an auction later for various activities such as a golfing trip with myself, a shopping trip, date, etc. Then take some of the kids the nonprofit usually serves out for a special afternoon of bowling/laser tag/mini-golf and pizza, they love pizza. Plus, invitations to the annual summer camp I hold in the off-season. Typically, the summer camp cost a little bit for those able to pay fees. However, after the year we’ve had, these children have missed out on a lot of opportunities that make their childhoods special, so free football camp for all of them. This will be a great way for them to receive some specialized and high quality football training.
