As I pointed out earlier in this thread, the discourse that HO and GMs have during rules discussions is bad and a joke rule proposal being on the ballot and announced in the summit thread is a symptom of that. While I don't think the blame lies on any one person or party individually, I do think that in general we (including myself) probably don't take the job of discussing and voting on rules as seriously as we should, and I would appreciate if HO and everyone else involved in these discussions could take some time to think through how to improve it.
I take offense to this. I think our (your and my) discussion in leadership chat was a pretty intelligent and civil one. I'm not actually super offended of course, but these comment threads do make it seem like I'm supposed to be. Either way, I get your point, but I think its painting with a brush that's just a bit too broad. There are some HO that take rules summit times very seriously and love to engage in productive discussion about it. I do think there might be some ways to improve the rules discussion overall, and plan to put them in my answers to the off-season survey. Hopefully you do the same!
Yes! I also thought we had some very good discussion. By no means do I think it is all bad, but I think in general it could definitely be improved and I wanted to make sure that that point came across in the thread because I thought it had been lost a bit.
