Training camp is such a magical time for players in the ISFL. After a full off-season, most everyone is excited to get back into the swing of things, and the players for the Philadelphia Liberty are no different. After yet another season of rebuilding, and another season under .500, the team finally feels like the pieces are coming together. They are now entering their fourth season under the guidance of General Managers Lip Chap and Lip Stashe, and while the duo has been heralded for the roster moves they've made in their short tenure, they are yet to see the product come together on the field.
One player that everyone within the organization and on the outside has an eye on this season is second year Quarterback Ryan Negs ( @negs ). After what most would call a disappointing rookie season in which many experts said he just looked unprepared for the speed of the ISFL game, Negs has put in numerous hours with famed Quarterbacks Coach Rich Gizzlebaum, and the player we saw at start of Season 28 and the player we saw at training camp were almost completely different, as we saw in preseason where the Liberty decided to let Negs sling it 153 times in four games. He was extremely efficient, completing 106 of those attempts (69.3%) and tossed 8 touchdowns versus 0 interceptions during preseason.
"This team goes as far as Ryan takes us this season," Head Coach Man Summers told reporters. "Last season was a bit of a shock for him I think, but this season he's not going to be surprised."
