The DSFL season is starting soon and it’s time to lace up those shoes! Training camp is a pivotal part of the season starting and Hercules Kamealoha was hyped and excited to jump in right away after he landed in Kansas City. It was a mild day and much cooler than his balmy Hawaiian hometown and Hercules was ready to start drills and working with the defensive coordinator and his team. Training camp gave Hercules a chance to meet his new teammates for the first time. Fellow defensive linemen, Prof Gravity and Konstantin Selich were cordial during their first meeting and Hercules met them with warm welcomes. As far as secret plays go, there weren’t many to be had for the Kansas City defense as the hardnosed defensive coordinator worked to impose a standard 4-3 defense with Gravity operating as a hybrid role. This allowed the two rookies, Kamealoha and Selich, to take up the front bulk of the load. Overall it was a good training camp and Hercules did well despite struggling to keep up with the physicality. In time, more training and adjustments will need to be made as the rookie becomes an integral part of the Kansas City defense.
